LOWERING EMISSIONS
Reducing carbon emissions is an important activity for any company or household. At SARAYA, we always explore new paths to reach our environmental goals. Today, we are reducing carbon emissions by lowering energy consumption and investing in carbon-sequestering technology. 

In 2001, SARAYA gained ISO14001 certification for Environmental Management Systems and large-scale conservation projects began. Since adopting these systems, we have reduced resource consumption and increased recycling dramatically. Our waste output is lowered every year, lessening our impact on nature.

We are dedicated to finding unique ways to reduce our environmental impact, such as the implementation of relaxed dress codes to reduce climate control, and the installation of solar panels and filtration systems in our factories.

CARBON SEQUESTERATION

Carbon Sequestration— keeping organic material in a state that will never reach the atmosphere as carbon gas—is a promising technology to combat climate change.
In 2007, SARAYA acquired majority share of the Kansai Sustainability Network (KSN), a facility that converts large amounts of organic refuse into charcoal, sequestering carbon and reducing landfill waste. The charcoal has many uses, including promoting soil health to help plants grow faster—which will absorb even more carbon in the future. LEARN MORE

PROTECTING BIODIVERSITY

In natural systems, every individual species, no matter how small, plays an important role in biological cycles. High biodiversity increases a system's resilience.

One of the world's most biodiversity regions is Borneo, whose jungles are home to thousands of unique species. However, these forests shrink every day due to the growth of palm farming. Since many of SARAYA's products are made with palm oil, it was only natural for us to take action and prevent the disappearance of this ecological jewel. LEARN MORE
